ConCan is a river resort community

Thousands of bird lovers make their way to ConCan every year to delight in the colored, vibrant spectacle of birds.

The area is also home to millions of bats that come seasonally and make nightly flights out of deep caves and fill the air with noise and a cloud of wings.

Motorcyclists love the Hill Country curves and the prevalence of beautiful trees overlooking canyon walls.

Southwest Texas is known for some of the best hunting world wide. From dove hunts to deer and wild hog, the game in the area attracts hunters year after year.

Our History

ConCan is all about traditional family vacations. Generation after generation have visited nearby Garner State Park and made it a part of their family history. Frio Country Resort is celebrating being a part of those family traditions for over 25 years.

Kenneth and Barbara Arthur began by building small cabins along the river. Today, there are over 90 cabins and lodges to choose from. While raising their children and watching their grandchildren grow up here, the Arthurs have stayed true to all that they believed Frio Country could be for new and old friends. You will find them still enjoying live music at House Pasture Cattle Company Restaurant, or greeting golfers at The Club at ConCan.

You can celebrate with them their love of the outdoors as you will see on the walls of Frio Country Store, House Pasture, and The Club. Whether it is deep sea fishing or African safaris, the Arthurs have brought this passion for wildlife to creating a resort for outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds.

Many people have decided after vacationing here to make it their home because of the down-home hospitality and rustic beauty of this Texas river showcase.

As the economy turns most attention towards more rewarding family times and less toward traveling far away, Frio Country offers that opportunity to feel like you have been somewhere unique outside city life.

Come celebrate life, family, and the beautiful outdoors with the Arthurs who will always welcome you as family.
